I am going to be completely honest with you. I want to tell you that I wake up at 5 am and start my day with a cup of hot tea, and I get up with time to relax and reflect on all of the things that I have to do for the day. But it’s not the truth. I am not a morning person at all and I try very hard to follow the blog post that I read. For some time, I was getting up at 5:30 am, working out, getting the day organized, packing hubby’s lunch, etc. I was doing all of the things! But then I would be exhausted and ready for bed by 4 pm; and I hadn’t even cooked dinner or tackled half of the things on my to-do list outside of work.

But I am trying to get back on track because having a morning routine does make a great difference. But it’s all about finding the right balance for you. So below is what my typical morning routine should consist of and some helpful tips on what you can include in your morning routine.

When you are coming up with your morning routine. It should consist of things that are most important to you. You may have to get your spouse or children’s agenda out of the way first. But these should be the things that you want to accomplish at the beginning of your day.

Some things you can include in your morning routine:

  • Prayer

  • Bible Study

  • Devotion

  • Meditation

  • Exercise

  • Journaling

  • Lemon Water or Morning Coffee

  • Morning Motivation/Affirmation

  • Laundry

  • Check Emails

  • Writing a To-Do List
